Any URL that starts https:// will trigger Raven authentication – even when the target page is published and available for user view – so be careful to send out URLs starting http:// when you are referring ordinary users to pages.

We use Raven authentication to allow manager and editor access to the site, which is why this happens. We are aware that increasingly site offer an https:// view of a page that is identical to the http:// view, but we are not able to offer this.

If you are referring Cambridge users to pages that are for restricted viewing the URLs will start https:// as they will be Raven authenticating to view them.
